Description
The historic Amstel House Garden, designed in the Colonial Revival style by Virginia Landscape Architect, Charles Gillette in the 1930’s, was recently renovated in 2018 and the work sponsored by the Arasapha Garden Club. Anne F. Walters Company, Landscape Architects was hired to provide landscape plans for the renovation of the garden. Gillette’s detailed plans were the inspiration for the changes required in the garden due to changes in light, shade, drainage, maintenance and current plant varieties and hardiness. Updated requirements for the use of the garden for parties and weddings required special consideration.
