Description
A Chester County estate, located on 33 beautiful, rolling acres features a recently renovated historic farmhouse. There is also a barn, several tenant houses, 3 spring houses and a new stone kennel building for the Owners’ well-loved animals.
A landscape master plan was designed to enhance the existing buildings and the site, while respecting the quiet, natural beauty of the land. Existing stone used on the house and barn was replicated for the construction of new walls. New stone steps set in grass slopes and a new stone terrace and wall for outdoor gatherings all mimic the original stone detailing. New low maintenance perennials, grasses and trees reflect the rural character of the site while adding seasonal color and interest for the owners. The unique pig sculpture located near the front door, is one of only three originals (one is on permanent display at the Brandywine River Museum) created by local artist, Andre Harvey.
